Escape From Tarkov Launches June Update with Notable Changes

Battlestate Games has recently released the June update for Escape from Tarkov, which enhances sound design, improves AI, and adds some quality-of-life improvements. Since starting closed beta testing in 2017, the game has received several updates that are player-requested changes. In May, for example, a major update implemented a rise in the spawn rate of one of the main bosses, and most players supported this adjustment.

Now, with the latest update, they have transitioned to summer in-game as well as made other optimizations for smoother performance on certain parts of the Reserve map. The team is now more accessible and is able to give feedback regarding gameplay sounds. The updates allow sounds to be managed better. They can now dampen sound ventilation through walls and off doors or windows that block sound much more effectively than before. Other adjustments resolve long-standing issues like intrusive noise from bush sounds.

The AI improvements in Escape from Tarkov have gotten better than before. Developers have fixed the odd movements and aim bugs with weapons. Bots now properly make use of doors and walk on hard ground. PMC bots seem less likely to go into spawn areas for Tarkov's bosses during the start of raids, resulting in fewer wild skirmishes. A lot of work has gone towards preventing The Goons from appearing more than once in PvE encounters and at times when AI characters seemed out of place.

In these instances where AI civilians acted anomalously or bizarrely, players can now sort through their stashes by name or type, which streamlines the process greatly. They can also check raid timers with keyboard shortcuts. In-game activities flow smoothly due to features such as easy currency exchange when making purchases, task pin assignments, bold indicators reminding users to start a raid after completing pre-raid tasks outlining prep items, and streamlined interface notifications aiding fluid multitasking.

Overhauled glass and heat sights improved visuals alongside scope feel modifications and zoom adjustments, enhancing aesthetics. Many persistent Tarkov bugs are resolved, like seeing issues on Customs Reserve maps, moving glitches, sound timing discrepancies, and strange acts involving item storage fragmentation. This current build underwent multiple rounds, but it isn't finalized, so expect strange audio behavior in some locations.
